R.I.P. Gadgenista’s iPod

This year 2007 is NOT a good year for my tech family *sad face*

My phone recently got stolen around 2 weeks ago, and my boyfriend’s iPod got stolen, too, around 2 days ago.

And just last week, I brought i-Bur (my 30 gig 5th gen iPod) to the iPod hospital for a check-up.

i-Bur’s been acting really strange. When you connect him to the computer, he cannot be detected. Not by iTunes and not even as a hard disk storage. *cry*

So he’s been practically useless since I couldn’t add any new songs or videos.

I’ve been stuck with my old songs and I’m getting a bit sick and tired of listening to the same songs over and over.

So anyway, I received a message from the iPod doctor saying that it’s going to cost me 6,000 php to have him repaired! That’s roughly around $125.

At that price, I should just get a new one since 80 gig iPod videos cost 18,000 php or around $375 here in the Philippines!

Apparently, the dock port where you attach the ipod cable is connected to the logic board and to have the logic board replaced costs 6,000 php! And that doesn’t include labor yet so I’m sure it’s going to cost more.

*sigh*

I’m thinking of postponing of buying my MacBook Pro to 2008… you know, just to avoid my 2007 tech gadget curse :P

Arrrgh.
