HTC Joins The Finger-Flicking Bandwagon
Well, we have to admit one thing, when Steve Jobs said that the iPhone is going to be the “most revolutionary phone of the year”, he certainly got that part right.
HTC (High Tech Computer Corp.), a Taiwan-based company who recently acquired Dopod and is one of the leading manufacturers of Smartphones and PDA phones, has recently released HTC Touch.
“Let your fingers guide you with the HTC Touch, the world’s first touch phone that gives you a whole new touch panel experience. The HTC Touch with TouchFLO™ revolutionizes the way you use the touch screen by allowing finger scrolling and panning.” - Product Page
Technically, HTC Touch really IS the first phone to have the finger-flicking feature since it was released prior to the iPhone (June 05, 2007)… but I still believe Apple came up with the original idea. Hehehe.
“The HTC Touch is the first device to feature TouchFLO™, the new underlying touch screen technology developed by HTC. Consumers simply sweep their finger up the display to launch an animated, three-dimensional interface comprising three screens: Contacts, Media and Applications. The interface can be spun by swiping a finger right or left across the display, providing efficient access to the features consumers use most. TouchFLO™ also enhances finger touch scrolling and browsing of Web pages, documents, messages and contact lists.” - Product Page
Atleast this iPhone clone (well, not exactly a clone… but you know what I mean), is definitely in a different league of the formerly mentioned iPhone clones. Definitely not crappy.
HTC Touch has a Windows Mobile 6 operating system, 2.8 inch LCD touch screen display, Bluetooth, WiFi, 2.0 megapixel camera and microSD expansion slot.
Now, I wonder how it looks in pink…
Not bad! Hahahahahaha. The wonders of Adobe Photoshop!
