Ten Futuristic Watch Designs From Tokyoflash!

I was surfing around for the “newest technology in watches” when I came across 10 Tokyoflash watches (all coming from Japan!) which apparently are state-of-the-art.
They might be the “most high-tech watches” in the market but, seriously, I got a headache just figuring out how these watches tell time!
Some of them look sugoku kakoi (really cool), but some look outright dorky to me!
Futuristic watches… take your pick!

Costs $129, brushed black finish with blue LEDs.
How to tell the time:
“Telling the time uses the 4 marked areas on the face. The first single light indicates 10 hours, the next 9 are 1 hour each. These are used to indicate hours 1-12.
The next 5 lights represent 10 mins each & the last 9 are 1 min each. Using these you can read 1-59 minutes.”
9. Barcode Black.

Costs $179, black finish and blue LEDs just like the 1000100101 Black.
How to tell the time:
“The 1st two columns show the hour.
In column 1 each light equals 5 hours, in column 2 each light equals 1 hour.
The 2nd 2 columns show the minutes.
In column 3 each light equals 10 mins, in column 4 each light equals 1 minute.”
8. EleeNo EG3.

Costs $80, equipped with a leather strap and metal face. Available in blue, green and red displays.
How to tell the time:
“The top row indicates the hour, the middle shows what 10-minute section you’re in, and the bottom row tells the minutes.”
7. EleeNo WebTime Series Elite.

One of the not-so-hard-to-understand watches, but may still take a few seconds for you to tell time is the EleeNo WebTime Series Elite. Comes in Aqua and Satsuma (is this Japanese for “Orange”? hehehe) colored models. This watch is water-proof and costs $122.
How to tell the time:
“Simply revealed by where the coloured line crosses the numbers.”
6. Shinshoku LED.

Another watch that’s a bitch to tell time with! The Shinshoku LED is a band made of stainless steel with little holes. Comes in three (3) kinds, multi-colored LEDs, all-green LEDs or all-red LEDs. Costs $116.
How to tell time with the multi-colored LEDs:
“Each red light indicates 1 hour
Each green light indicates 15 minutes
Each yellow light indicates 1 minute”
I have no idea how to tell time with the same-colored LEDs. Hahahaha.

One of the easier-to-understand watches, this watch costs $139.
How to tell the time:
“The outer black block shows the minutes, and the inner one shows the hours.”
4. Radio Active.

This one’s simply indescribable… and one of the too-dorky watches I was telling you guys about. I wouldn’t be caught wearing this watch, but if you’re into the Nuclear theme and all, then by all means get this. Hehehe.
Costs $97.
How to tell the time:
The time is displayed by simply adding the lights. 20 plus 10 plus 2= 32 minutes. The Red Warning light is for the 6 hour mark and the Danger gauge for the other 6 hours.
3. Mugen.

Mugen means infinity in Japanese (wow, you learn something new everyday!) and I guess this watch is called such because the LCD display spirals into “infinity”! Available in black or silver and costs $80.
How to tell the time:
Around the outer edges are 60 segments, indicating 1 minute each. They are grouped in 10’s so it’s easy to tell the time at a glance. The inner spiral of blocks represent 1 hour each.
2. High Frequency 2.

This one simply reminds me of KITT of Knight Rider. Hahahaha. So if you’re a fan of David Hasselhoff, maybe you can get this! Costs $144
How to tell the time:
“The display pushes up the top row of lights and they float back down in a real equalizer effect, finally all the lights fall down off the face of the watch to leave only two lights to indicate the time for 5 seconds, then the two lights also trail off.”
1. JLr7.

And the number 1 watch when it comes to difficulty in telling time goes to… the JLr7! Even tho it’s completely impossible to tell the time in one glance (well, maybe you can, after a while.. like 10 years…), this watch looks completely cool!
I wouldn’t mind getting one of these for myself if it comes with a smaller face. (because my wrists are too skinny!)
Costs $121 with a dark gunmetal finish and an all black crystal face.
How to tell the time:
“There are 12 lights for the hour, 3 for “quarter past”, “half past” & “quarter to” and 14 lights for the times in between. There are also 3 other lights which show the seconds ticking by.”
So which one is your favorite?

it looks cool but waaaah! the first few watches that you’ve shown gives me a headache! maybe reading those faces takes a lot of time getttin’ used to. I’m more likely to buy the Mugen watch over the others. maybe even the next generation of people would even go ” what the hell is this?”
