Are Your Parents Computer Literate?
It was my mom’s birthday yesterday and my siblings and I decided to give her an ASUS EEE PC for her 60th birthday!
I’ve been thinking of getting her the EEE PC ever since it came out, hoping it’ll help her to be more comfortable with technology.
For one thing, my mother does NOT have an email address, and just the very thought makes me sad. Hehehehe.
It was just so funny when my mom open the gift. She stared at it and uttered, “What’s this??”
I wanted to slap my forehead silly right then and there.
Hopefully after a week or so my mom would already know how to surf the internet by herself, send email and watch YouTube. She’d be hanging at coffee shops, sipping latte and surfing on her spanking, brand new white ASUS EEE PC!
Her reaction to the gift was just so classic really.
So how many of you guys out there have computer literate parents? Hehehe.

Actually my parents are, my mom likes to watch or download videos at http://www.veoh.com. She likes JDramas, KDramas and some anime.

My dad can do wonders with AutoCAD, a software that I have no idea how to use. But he’s completely at a loss when it comes to email. LOL.

@Marco, wow! That’s totally cool! :) I dont think my mom even knows what JDramas are, haha! :)
@Bea, haha! That’s funny! My dad fortunately is a little bit computer literate. He was the first one to teach me how to use a computer when I was a little kid. But I don’t think he was able to adjust to how fast technology evolved! Totally surprised him how small the ASUS EEE PC was :P

My mom was actually the one who taught us how to us Coreldraw and Adobe Photoshop :D

before, my mom only knows how to use the typewriter…but now, she uses an ELECTRIC TYPEWRITER!!! Konti na lang PC na gagamitin nun…mga after 5 years siguro hehehehe.

My dad likes Freecell. If I can nudge him into playing a healer in World of Warcraft, I’m set.
My mum sadly is unable to switch on a computer.

My mom used to work abroad so we usually communicated through YM. She also has Friendster and Flickr accounts. :)
